The Philippines is the northernmost Island group in the Malay Archipelago, situated between Taiwan in the north and Borneo in the South. CLIMATE
The
Philippines is located between latitude 5 and 22 degrees north. This means
that the country falls within the
so called tropical climate zone, a zone characterized by high temperatures
the whole year round, relatively high rainfall and lush vegetation. Temperatures
are tempered late afternoons by an incoming sea breeze. Daily temperatures
range from 26 to 40 degrees centigrade. At night, the temperature can drop
to as low as 18 degrees on
a cool period from October to February. The summer
or hot period is from February to May. The hottest months are March and
April.
HOW TO GET THERE
There are large number of airlines that
fly to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City. From Europe
you have KLM, Lufthansa, Air France, British Airways, and SAS. From the
United States of America, there are regular flights by Northwest Airlines,
Continental Airways, and American Airlines. From neighboring countries,
Cathy Pacific flies from Hongkong to Manila, Singapore airlines from Singapore,
Thai Airways from Bangkok, China Airlines from Taipei, Korean Airlines from
Seoul, Japan airlines from Tokyo and other Japanese airports, and Malaysian
Airways from Kuala Lumpur. The country’s flag carrier, Philippine Airlines,
flies regularly to a number of major cities in the world.
