Palawan

Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center - The crocodile farm is a showcase of successful conservation project. The farm breeds two endangered species found in the country including the endemic Philippine crocodile. There also a mini-zoo where the colorful Nicobar Pigeon, the raucous talking mynah, the elusive bear cat, and other animals found in Palawan are sheltered.
Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm- Established by the Americans in 1904 to supply food to other prisons all over the country, Iwahig has since become synonymous to finely handcrafted bags and other souvenir items. In the prison without walls, inmates tend vast farms instead of idly spending time behind bars.
Fort Sta. Isabel - A major landmark in the province of Palawan is the famous Fort Sta. Isabel built in 1667 under the Augustinian Recollect Fathers and named in honor of Spain’s Queen Isabel in the 1800s. The Fort was used as a military station during that period . Its small chapel and cannon are still intact. The Fort is now under the supervision of the National Museum.
Tabon Caves - located in Quezon, Palawan known as the "Cradle of Philippine Civilization", can be reached within 20-30 minutes of pumpboat ride from Quezon wharf. Tabon Caves is known as the Philippine's Cradle of Ancient Civilization where the skull of the Tabon Man (the earliest human remains in the Philippines buried for 16,000 years) was discovered.
Cuyu Fort - located in Cuyo Island, this was built during early Spanish period, purposely to protect the natives of the island, the Cuyunons, from their enemies. It is considered as one of the most ancient and unique fort in the archipelago. Unique in the sense that you could find the church, the convent and the only Perpetual Adoration Chapel in Palawan within the Fort.
